22-year old Olesya Stefanko was crowned “Miss Ukraine Universe-2011″ during a ceremony held at Kyiv’s Art & Culture center on Saturday, December 11th. Olesya, who stands 178 cm tall, comes from Ivano-Frankivsk region and is a student at the Odessa Law Academy.
The winner, in addition to receiving a golden necklace with precious stones, gets the right to represent Ukraine at the Miss Universe 2011 pageant expected to take place next September.
The 1st runner-up was Anastasiya Buriak (18) and the 2nd runner-up was Irina Samulya (20). All five finalists won vouchers for tourism trips to Cannes.
The organizer of the contest, Oleksandra Nikolayenko-Ruffin (Miss Ukraine 2001) was not present at the contest due to other commitments, but sent a congratulating message to the winner.
