Natalya Gantimurova from Moscow has been chosen as the new Miss Russia 2011 during the annual ceremony held on March 5th.
Natalya, who was crowned by outgoing queen Irina Antonenko -and by the reigning Miss Universe Jimena Navarrete- stands 174 cm tall and is expected to represent the country at the Miss Universe pageant to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in September, and/or the Miss World pageant to take place in December.
The 1st runner-up or “Vice-Miss” is Anastasia Mashukova from Krasnoyarsk. The 2nd runner-up is Yana Dubnik from Novosibirsk.
50 women competed in the contest. A panel of judges chose then a Top 15, and a Top 10 who competed in the interview round. A finalist from the contest will also represent Russia in Miss Supranational 2011 to be held in Poland in August.

To Elio – both Miss Universe and Miss World are invited each year to Miss Russia. Miss World has been unable to attend the contest the last couple of years because the Miss Russia date has changed to early March, which is when Miss World is always in the US for a long standing Miss World tradition and committment — the Variety Telethon in Iowa. Miss Universe attending the show does not mean that the winner will have to go to MU, for example, Riyo Mori was at Miss Russia 2008, but the winner that year (Ksenia Sukhinova) only went to MW. The winner at Miss Russia is expected to attend either or both contests depending on constraints such as dates, age etc. If there is a conflict with attending either contest, the runner up or the 2nd runner up will go in her place.

Elio, I think you are reading too much into this. Ksenia Sukhinova would have done just as well at MU as at MW. Don’t forget that there are just as many latinas at MW – and that year there were very strong ones – from Tamara (Brazil) to Hannelys (Venezuela) to Ana Gaby (Mexico). Ksenia blew the lot away in both Top Model and Beach Beauty. She would have had no trouble at all at MU (even her 2 RU finished in the top 5 at MU, and Ksenia was leagues ahead of her!) MW is both larger and better known across the world. MU has a huge fan following in Latin America but it is less well known outside the world.

to jon , ksenia is nothing compared to goddess dayana mendoza elisa najera taliana vargas carolina dementiev ingrid marie watch the pageant by your self ,dayana and taliana was unbeateable in mu nobady can beat them they were 2 mu ,ksenia is cute but has not the x factor of miss universe winner that dayana mendoza have ,you can;t compare ksenia to incredible rare unique goddess of beauty dayana mendoza and the elisa najera and plus a pageant is better whith quality not quantity that replace quality in miss world contastants who are not really that pretty

almost european countries send their delegates/real winners to miss universe….russia, france,belgium,spain and others……their runner-ups to miss world….miss universe is incomparable…the most prestigious,grandest, the mother of all pageants….in fact in 2008 former miss world 2003 rosanna davidson wanted to compete in miss universe but it would be unfair to the other girls in ireland….she’s now connected with miss universe ireland..wa a judge and a host…..the miss world organization would say that they are no. 1 to boost their morale…..

Sorry guys but I think Miss Moscow is the worst Miss Russia ever: waddle like a duck, an ugly mole under her nose, crooked and yellow teeth (smoking???), thin hair… She looked like the ugly duckling during thetelecast ((( I prefer Miss Internet popularity from Sochi.

I think miss universe is far better than miss world in term of beauty level and in term of the show plus the new miss russia is stunning people watch her on videos on you tube and you will see how beautiful she is
