Miss Universe 2011 is about to Start!

Welcome Dinner will be held at Palacio dos Bandeirantes

The pageant will start with the arrival of 85+ beauties from all over the world at Guarulhos airport on August 21-23.  According to local reports, the first delegate to arrive will be Miss Ecuador, Claudia Schiess. While in Sao Paulo, the contestants will be staying at the 5-star Hilton Morumbi hotel, located in the western outskirt of the city. i’m excited to watch miss universe pageant on tv.I’d love to go amd see it live in person, but i can’t afford it.If and when Canada will be a host country then’ll go.

  • Vincent

What about the pre-arrival leaderboard? They said about a week ago that it was going to be published but still there’s nothing… :(

  • So the contestants are going to some beaches? I hope that nobody gets sick because it is winter. Doesn’t sound like a very exciting and glamorous destination. There’s a big difference between Rio and SP…and between summer and winter. I hope that the girls aren’t packing expecting warm Carnival-time weather, beaches, etc.

    • dkfan

off course there is a difference, são paulo is better !!! we have the best hotels, restaurants, night clubs, we are the biggest city and most important to the economy, and our beaches are incredible beauties

  • andres

I NOW ONE OF THE MEMBER OF THE “BRIC” IS KEEPING THE CROWM. BRAZIL, RUSSIA, INDIA OR CHINA.

    • CharlieD

well… only CHINA can do it!!!… any of the others you wrote there… sorry… China, USA, Kosovo and Australia are the girls to beat… maybe Argentina, Angola, Costa Rica or Malaysia… anyone… :)

      • Pete

I don’t think so, one of these three will bag the crwon: 1 USA 2 Mexico 3 Ukraine, the rest, sorry not even China.

        • Vic007

Pete – I saw Miss Mexico in Houston and she will not be the next Miss Universe ….I even doubt if she makes the cut… One thing is to look at someone from a photo and another in person. She is very tall but not WOW in beauty… There are plenty of WOW contestants this year…Once the contestants begin their arrivals you will see what I am referring to.

So the Presentation Show and National Costume Show will be held together on the same night at the same venue, one after another!

I remember that the last time this happened was back in 2006, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

  • andres

yeah mazen! must defenitely. you can seat your little ass that night and wait for venezuela to win again. no latin country is taking the crown this year!

  • Bryan Peter

USA, Philippines, Angola, PR and Venezuela are my bets

  • Igniter

Australia, Costa Rica, China, and Kosovo followed by Angola, Bahamas, Holland, Argentina, Finland, and Ukraine to make top 10. The regulars (Venezuela, PR, USA, Dom Rep) and home country (Brazil) for top 15 and Philippines, Thailand, Ghana, Malaysia, and Peru for surprise semifinal picks.

  • nikanora lula

    ASIAN POWER WILL ROCK!

  • Costa Rica,Israel,U.S.A.,Trinidad&Tobago,Angola,Philippines,Australia,Argentina,Finland and Puerto Rico…..they are the top ten

  • rodriguezguy

i haven’t seen d photos of all contestants, but right now there’s only 3 who i think are best bets for the crown: USA, Alyssa Campanella; Kosovo, Aferdita Dreshaj; and Malaysia, Deborah Priya Henry. there’s a dozen others actually who can beat any of these three, but it all boils down on the Presentation Show and the Personality Interviews, and the particular tastes and biases of the Preliminary panel of judges. i don’t think the winner will come from Donald Trump and MUO’s choices come pageant night, unless she’s also among the judges’ pick. nevertheless, batch 2011 is a very competitive batch but expect come coronation night that only two or three would stand out in the eyes of the Final telecast judges

  • hope & pray that either miss colombia, or philippines will be the 2011 miss universe.

  • PhIaNnE

THE PHILIPPINES is silent as this moment but remember its like a ball rolling we cant say that the strong contenders will be consistent to the pageant night. Many surprises awaits. and I’m pretty sure Philippines is one of much awaited surprise..

I am Brazilian, but I found a mistake to have chosen the city of São Paulo to host for the 2011 MUniverso therefore has many attractions as the city of Rio de Janeiro or even some cities in the Northeast with its beaches which are tropical paradises or even have the option of taking the state of Amazonas beautiful nature and rich that there exists for a more beautiful with the great rivers and forests that have, in addition, five star hotels and stunning visuals. Sao Paulo is capital to enjoy the nightlife with great restaurants, theaters and beaches are not as beautiful as the ones in northeast Brazil. But do what ????? Mr. Trump always looking for great investment ….

  • WilliamNYC
