Miss Intercontinental 2011 – victory for the United States

Spain (2nd), USA (1st), Jamaica (3rd)

Miss Intercontinental 2011 happened in the city of Orihuela, Spain, and the winner was the representative of the United States, Jessica Hartman, a former Miss Colorado USA and Miss USA 4th runner-up. The 1st runner-up was Spain, Gloria Martinez, and the 2nd runner-up was Jamaica, Amanda Gordon.

Ethiopia and China completed the top 5, while the semi-finalists were the candidates from Bolivia, Cuba, India, Korea, Mauritius, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, South Africa, Spain, Uruguay, and USA.

The pageant was telecast locally and through the internet. The traditional Miss Intercontinental contest, which started out as a Teen competition, exists since 1971, but has not yet reached the “Grand Slam” level. It is, however, considered one of the 15 most important beauty competitions on the globe.

Congratulations to the winner!

Congratulations, I still remember her amazing performance at Miss USA 2010, she was actually placed 3rd runner-up, please change the information.

hahah why it’s You GB to decide which conest is the Grand Slam worth!!!

    • GB

Maybe because Global Beauties CREATED the concept of Grand Slam in pageants. Others copied it, as usual… =)

    • Andry

Global Beauties CREATED the Grand Slam ranking in 1999. They are the ones who decide who is in or out. Not fans, not other forums not other sites. Only GB. And it is registered to, under their name. You can have Big 3, Big 4, etc. But the term “Grand Slam of Beauty pageants” its exclusive to GB. So, it makes sense.

there were many strong girls in this contest,
the only thing is dislike is the way they choose the semi finalist
each continent 3 but if africa has 5 girls and europe has over 20 (and very strong ones were eliminated austria, belgium, germany, latvia, luxemburg, slovak rep, ukraine )then there must be something wrong the number of girls they choose from a region.

but anyway, the winners are spectacular!
    USA was standing out.

Well, first of all to correct that she was 3rd Runner up at Miss USA (4th runner up was Miss Maine). I am so happy for Jessica. It was my favorite to win, but sadly did not win. But now she has finally a well deserved crown on her own… Miss Intercontinental 2011.

This year looks much better than last year, but still not as good as 2009 in Minsk.
We still dont know how many countries who sen the final Live.
    Good luck to Miss USA.

Compared to current Miss World and current Miss Universe, Jessica Hartman, who was also Miss Colorado USA 2010 and 3rd Runnerup in Miss USA 2010, is so much more and
so much prettier – a real beautyqueen – than either one of the other (two) tittles.

  • Sam

She looks stunning, happy for her!

bravoooo !! daniela!! ahora miss internacional!!! ………VAMOSS BOLIVIAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Honestly if you are not in the top 3 of your continent how could you ever win the pageant. Choosing the top 3 from each continent is a great way to give an honest representation of beauty from around the world. Beauty should not be judged on the standards of how people look in South America or Europe. Asian and African girls are beautiful as well and are now only finally being recognised, why do they have to look more European to be judged as beautiful.
What is your criteria for a grand slam pageant? You made Miss Supranational a Grand Slam last year and this pageant was far superior. From both the standard of the girls, the venue, the crown and has proven itself for over 40 years. Maybe worth reconsidering :)
I enjoyed watching this pageant live on the web it ran quickly focusing on the girls and not lots of uninteresting entertainment as most of the other beauty pageants fail to realise we are watching to see the girls.
Congratulations to Miss USA well deserved win a real beauty inside and out.

spain is looking better,of all the pageants, the three most prestigious are
    mu
    mw
    me
and to certain mi though it has lost its sheen after being held in china

    • Gary

Miss International “lost its sheen after being held in China”? Quite the opposite and being held in China has raised it’s presence more. Miss Earth has lost its sheen imo and don’t find it worthy of international status that much.

  • A BEAUTYFAN

I had all 5 Finalists among my favorites and that tells something positive of Miss
Intercontinental that quite opposite of (what it tells of) Miss Universe, and Miss World, where the ones who’d should have been among the best were not even close to.

  • JUST {SOME}

Jessica Hartman is after Brigitte Bergman the 2nd Miss Intercontinental of a Dutch Descendance and at the same time, in a decade time and like Zizi Lee in 2001 also,
the 2nd 3rd finalist in a national pageant in some time afterwards wins high score
among a lot of other beauties in a pageant of that high substances with such sense
of an international beautyqueen: a success of that high caliber of such MISS U.S.A.
    NOW MISS INTERCONTINENTAL

  • GOOD 4 SPAIN

Holding Miss Intercontinental for this 1st time ever in Spain was such an excellent
choice, also. The Weather was GOOD and surely 4 this time of the year: an excellent
Alicant where The Weather was GOOD and warmer 4 some Miss of any cold country, like
Russia, while The Weather was GOOD and warm – @least warm enough too – for all them
there – @Costa Blanca, in Spain at the time – @least warm enough for bikini shows &
shooting@Costa Blanca, in Spain at the time – @least they didn’t get a cold outside
shooting@Costa Blanca; in Spain at the time King Weather COOPERATED VERY VERY WELL!

  • Wk12

Which are the 15 most important beauty competitions on the globe?

  • Khuthi

    Congratulations to USA

  • RUDY

    A Well deserved Crown…congratulations USA!!!!…last year Miss World…and now Miss Intercontinental….Great!!!

  • ad

USA is very beautiful Miss Intercontinental winner for 2011 & so r the runnerups & semifinalists. The judges made a great choice. I wish GB will add the Miss Intercontinental pageant this year among theothers like MU, MW, ME, MI, MTQI, miss supranational in the grand slam.

  • Zuleyka

USA is beautiful, but I like Spain, too!

  • Voldemort

The title above mentioned that Miss Intercontinental is one of the most 15 important beauty competition. Can anyone (or Global Beauties) please list all 15 pageant? My guess is Miss Universe, World, International, Earth, Tourism Queen, Supernation, Intercontinental and Miss Globe. I can’t figure out what are the other 7.

  • KL

I guess her Miss Intercontinental title is a form of vindication for her, for in the 2010 Miss USA pageant, she was one of the top scorers, placing second in swimsuit and first in evening gown with a noticeable wide margin over the other contestants, but ended up in 4th place when the judges placed their final votes.
