Getting to know Alejandra Andreu

Alejandra Andreu is  18 years old and comes from Zaragoza.   She aspires to study visual communications, as she just graduated from high school months ago.

Alejandra, who stands 173 cm tall, finished in third place at the Miss Spain pageant last March, earning her the right to compete in Miss International.

Usually, the 2nd runner up in Miss Spain competed in the Miss Europe pageant but being a unstable contest -last edition took place in 2006-, the organizers decided that Alejandra  was better off competing in the Japanese competition.

She resembles former Miss Switzerland Lauriane Gillieron, a runner-up at Miss Universe 2006.  When asked about beauty secrets, Alejandra says that she keeps a healthy lifestyle, but the most important thing is enjoying life.

Alejandra’s victory marks the third Miss International crown for Spain. Other winners were Pilar Medina (1977) and Silvia de Esteban (1990). It is also the first “grand slam” beauty title for Spain since 1990.

Top 12 delegates during Hip Hop round

For those wanting to see the Top 12 delegates dancing during the hip hop round, here is a taste thanks to YouTube.  Even though a lot of people did not know how the Hip Hop thing was going to turn out, Kudos to the producers for doing something innovating and above all, ENTERTAINING. Table Dance… and a Cultural Speech

The Top 12 finalists took part in a “Dance Off” or more like a Table Dance section, where they had to jump on a small stage and show their dancing moves to the rhythm of “When I Grow Up” by the Pussycat Dolls and “4 Minutes” by Madonna among others.

It was a really entertaining section, but I don’t know if fans will like it as part of a beauty pageant’s competition since this performance is part of the final score.

Some of these girls really ROCKED the stage! LOL

Afterwards, the finalists dressed in beautiful qi paos delivered their loooong, rehearsed, “World Peace” (ala Gracie Lou Freebush) speeches. Zzzzzzzzzzzz….

More swimsuits…

9:48 pm in Macau, the contestants just finished the swimsuit parade.  Puerto Rico’s Miriam Pabon rocked the 2nd part of the competition with her stage presence. We wonder what is the judges’ perception.  Norway, Poland, Spain and Vietnam also impressed with their beauty.

Swimsuit competition under Way

With bubbles, acrobats hanging from the roof and pop music, the 63 contestants are showing off their attributes during the swimsuit competition.

SPECTACULAR: Colombia does a more than great performance during the swimsuit competition

The contest has already started…

It is 9:15 pm in Macau. At this point, the delegates are being introduced in national costumes. The production is very upbeat, modern and elegant. A real change from what we are used to see!
