The Miss Tourism International beauties embarked on an official visit to the Malaysian state of Johor, located in the southern portion of Peninsular Malaysia. Its state capital city and royal city of Johor is Johor Bahru, formerly known as Tanjung Puteri (Malay for Princess’ Cape). Johor is also known by its Arabic honorific, Darul Ta’zim, or “Abode of Dignity”, and as Johore in English.
Upon being welcomed by the local media, dancers and authorities, the beauties took part in a motorcade during the main streets of Johor Bahru, by parading in classic automobiles. The parade led to the main entrance of the Zon Hotel, official host hotel of the 2-day visit.
Johor is located at only 700m north of Singapore. They are linked via two road connections: the Johor-Singapore Causeway and the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link. The Causeway also carries a railway line, which is now part of the main rail route linking Singapore with Thailand via Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh and Butterworth.
